The Receiving Manager oversees the receipt, verification, and stocking of incoming materials, as well as inventory control.

RECEIVING MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma is required, as is 2+ years of receiving and material handling experience. Experience managing shipping/receiving clerks is preferred.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others are essential. Strong math, organizational, and computer skills are required; prefer experience with shipping / receiving / inventory software. Need a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision.

RECEIVING MANAGER PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to communicate orally with vendors, shippers (logistics companies), coworkers, and middle management is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.

The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office and storage facility is required. Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common; must also be able to lift and move incoming materials when necessary.

Occasional heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed indoors in a traditional, temperature-controlled office setting and in a warehousing facility. Will divide time between sitting at a desk (while using a computer or other device) and moving about the receiving area and warehouse.
