AS9100 Management Responsibilities:
Top Management is responsible for implementation of this procedure and, ultimately, for the entire Quality Management System.
Department Managers, as part of the Management Team, are responsible for supporting Top Management and Quality Management in the implementation of this procedure.
Quality Management is responsible for ensuring that processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented, and maintained. The QMR is also responsible for reporting to Top Management on the performance of the QMS and reporting any need for its improvement.
AS9100 Management Definitions:
Management Team – Consists of Top Management, department/function managers, and Quality Management, at a minimum.
Top Management – Generally, a group of company officers (e.g., chief executive officer, chief financial officer) with primary responsibility for decisions and activities affecting the company in the long term (e.g., strategic planning); may also be referred to as “senior level management”. Depending on context, the term could refer to a location’s top management (e.g., plant director).
