Master Parts List Files Responsibilities:
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the Company’s Master Parts List.
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for preparing bills of materials.
Master Parts List Files Definitions:
Bill of materials (BOM) – (a) A list of all the materials needed to manufacture a product or product component. (b) A listing of all subassemblies, intermediate parts and raw materials that go into a parent assembly showing the quantity of each required to make an assembly.
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) – Information sheet on a particular substance, designed to provide workers and emergency personnel with the proper procedure(s) for handling or working with that substance. An MSDS will include information such as physical data (melting point, boiling point, flash point, etc.); toxicity; health effects; first aid measures; reactivity; and storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill/leak procedures that are of particular use if a spill or other accident occurs.
