The person identifying the nonconformance should complete the top section of the Nonconformance Report ISO Template. The person filling out form QP1030-1 NONCONFORMANCE REPORT should sign and forward the form to Quality, Production, and/or Procurement (as appropriate), so that proper disposition of the material may be determined. Engineering may be asked to assist in determining material disposition.
Persons determining/authorizing disposition should sign the Nonconformance Report in the appropriate area. Keep in mind nonconforming material refers to that which does not meet specifications (i.e., one or more characteristics does not meet specified requirements). Nonconforming material is typically found during verification, inspection, and/or test activities. The company should ensure that material that does not conform to requirements (e.g., finished products, parts, manufacturing tools/aids) is located, identified, and controlled to prevent its unintended use or delivery.
