WAREHOUSE MANAGER SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, inventory control, selecting, loading, safety, and security. They coordinate operations with 3rd-party loading services and ensure customer support through accurate, on-time shipments. They are also responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and directing the activities of warehouse personnel.
WAREHOUSE MANAGER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage receiving activity to ensure on time delivery, release carrier equipment to avoid detention, and monitor yard management for proper spotting/movement.
- Manage inventory processing, to ensure product availability for timely customer shipments and ensure compliance with the organization’s lead time goals.
- Create and manage solutions for inventory capacity problems.
- Work in concert with the organization’s Production centers.
- Responsible for warehouse and auto expense control.
- Establish targets, objectives, and goals throughout the warehouse and auto parts operations.

WAREHOUSE MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree in logistics or business administration or a related degree with five (5) years of logistics supervisory experience or a high school diploma with 10 years of progressive responsibility in a logistics environment (e.g., 5 years of warehouse experience plus 5 years of supervisory experience). Should have knowledge of supervision, developing, and assisting with budgets. Must have demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team of warehouse/logistics personnel. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential. Strong organizational and management skills are necessary; project management experience preferred. Candidate needs experience in logistics automation.
WAREHOUSE MANAGER PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.), is required.
Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common. Must also be able to position self to maintain logistics equipment, including under the equipment.
