Customer software consultants are experts in installing, implementing, customizing, and enhancing the company’s products. Customers should be billed by the hour for consulting work. Before beginning a project, the customer software consultant shall estimate what the cost to the customer will be. The consultant should also notifies the customer of potential cost overruns that may occur during the course of a project.
