Once potential risks have been identified and prioritized, the Emergency Management Directors should test and evaluate the proposed solutions for effectiveness and document such tests on FS1200-1 RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS TEST REPORT. Before testing, short- and long-range solutions should be determined, the most appropriate primary and secondary solutions should be decided upon, and the solutions should be included in the Emergency Response Plan and related testing and training programs. The Emergency Management Directors will conduct tests whenever a new risk is identified and solutions for prevention or mitigation developed. A FS1200-1 RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS TEST REPORT will be used to describe the test scenario and solutions and to record the results of the tests.
Top management should establish, implement and maintain procedures to manage potential emergency situations and accidents that can impact food safety and which are relevant to the organization in the food chain. Food safety risks due to emergency situations should be assessed and prioritized on the basis of their probability and seriousness. The Food Safety Team Leader should forward written results and recommendations for preventive and/or contingency actions to the Emergency Management Directors for review and incorporation into the Emergency Response Plan.
