The Product Return Request Template should be complete with information regarding the product returned as well as the replacement product ordered. The Public Relations Manager should give sufficient details of the recall to enable affected parties to take appropriate action (discontinue product use, contact emergency medical assistance, return affected product, etc.), including providing PM1030-4 PRODUCT RETURN FORM, if applicable.
When returning something, the remaining unused product should be returned in original packaging. An order form/receipt with product, showing date of purchase (and place, if not purchased directly from company, should also be included. The Quality Assurance Manager should ensure that an annual audit of product recall records is conducted, to determine if recall procedures are being properly implemented and that they continue to meet statutory/regulatory, customer, and other requirements. The Quality Assurance Manager should ensure that a third-party audit of the recall process is conducted at regular intervals (every three years, at a minimum).
