The IT Asset Manager manages, controls, and protects the organization’s IT assets (i.e., hardware) throughout their life cycle, from acquisition through final disposition. In addition, the IT Asset Manager designs, develops, and implements the organization’s asset management strategy.
Reports directly to IT Management. Assists and works in conjunction with hardware/ software installers and IT Security.

A bachelor’s degree in business administration or information technology is required, as is 5-7 years’ experience in IT asset management. Experience in project management and IT procurement are a plus, as is experience with asset management tools (e.g., Flexera, CA). Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory is very important. Must have professional certification (e.g., CHAMP, ITIL, CITAM) or be able to achieve within six (6) months of hire.
Must be a problem solver and innovator. Must possess strong computer skills – expert in Excel to analyze large volumes of data. Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, Minitab) a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills required; leadership skills desirable. Desire demonstrated cross-cultural effectiveness and capability of driving change. Ability to see structure and bring order to undefined (or poorly defined) processes, as well as develop and implement processes, are a necessity. Understanding of ISO 9001 a plus.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated (personal initiative). Solid project management skills and experience are needed; certification in project management (e.g., PMP) will be helpful.
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be able to handle pressure. Prefer candidates with demonstrated experience in analyzing and presenting data to management.
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.), is required.
Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common. Must also be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
Some moderately heavy lifting (of computer monitors, printers, etc.) may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting while using a computer or other devices are common.
