After training requirements are identified for sales department staff members, the Sales Manager should complete the Training Plan section of each Sales Training Record Template. The Sales Manager should meet to review the training plan with individual members of the sales department, discuss training priorities and goals, and make modifications as required. The Sales Manager should be responsible for updating the Individual Training Record as sales department members complete training objectives. The Sales Manager should review results of training courses and enter information on the AD1050-2 INDIVIDUAL SALES TRAINING RECORD as appropriate. Training course results can include items such as the following:
- Test results;
- Course evaluation results; and
- Certificates awarded for completion.
The Sales Manager should annually review the Sales Training Record Template to verify that training courses were held as scheduled, sales department members attended scheduled training, and test results and course evaluations are acceptable.
