Each Department responsible for leads should periodically generate a status report for the Marketing Manager, in accordance with MT1050-3 LEAD MANAGEMENT STATUS REPORT. The Lead Management Status Report Template should be submitted once a week, at a minimum ” more frequently, if warranted by volume, deadlines, milestones, and other factors. The Status Report covers the lead source, number of leads, leads worked, leads disqualified, and more. (NOTE: With appropriate software systems, such status reports may be generated automatically or on demand.)

The Marketing Manager should evaluate Lead Management Status Reports on a regular basis (i.e., weekly) and compare actual performance with objectives in the Lead Management Plan. Evaluations may be done by:

  • Department;
  • Person(s) assigned;
  • Lead category/class;
  • Business type;
  • Lead source (advertising vehicle); and/or
  • Conversion rate.

The Marketing Manager should meet weekly, at a minimum, with Managers of Departments and key personnel handling suspects, prospects, and/or leads to review the reports.
