Background

Allen is a Project Level Manager with working experience in developing strategic and operational solutions. Complex problems that require both a hands-on approach at the working level coupled with the facilitation of Senior Management teams to implement achieve improvement results, no problem. Throughout his 20+ years in the corporate world, he has held a wide range of progressive positions, from Apprentice, Supervisor, Project Construction Engineering Manager to Divisional and Corporate Quality Officer. These experiences in the operations, service, administrative and staff environments allows him to assist a wide scope of functional groups effectively. Allen’s corporate affiliations have included both nuclear and commercial power generation experiences at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNSDD), Virginia Power, Carolina Power and Light, and Asea Brown Boveri Power Generation.

Allen has planned, organized and implemented quality systems and lean process based continuous improvement programs within his organizations. He has served as the Senior Divisional Quality Officer in a corporate quality organization with both national and international influence, focusing on low cost process based business system solutions. In significant management consulting roles over the last 10 years, he has provided project management leadership, system development and support to the client management teams for projects as small as 16 people, to as large as a multi-national ISO implementation coordinating 60+ sites at Big 3 Auto Manufacturer. The assignments included consultant staff management, integrated business and quality system development, training materials creation and training delivery, internal audit programs, performance measurement systems and business process improvement. Specialties

Allen has a wide range of experience in project management for engineering and construction operations. He has coordinated and directed numerous projects in time-based management; cycle time reduction, Supplier Quality management, and major plant equipment upgrade projects. He has also implemented and audited process based quality systems based on Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental or QS 9000 / TS 16949 automotive. In addition, Allen has worked extensively with business problem-solving teams to streamline processes and improve customer satisfaction profitably in both service and manufacturing settings using technology solutions to improve business performance results.

For the last 10 years, Allen has been a principal management consultant, training materials developer, trainer and auditor for power generation, technology providers and automotive industries. His list of clients represents a diverse range and capability: Mullins (cigarette manufacturing equipment), Delphi Automotive (suspension and electrical components), New Venture Gear (automotive transmissions), Singer Furniture (residential case goods), AMF Bowling Equipment Manufacturing, DaimlerChrysler (Vehicle Assembly, Component Manufacturing and Corporate Quality), Connect Inc. (software and wireless devices), GM Powertrain (engine manufacture), National TechTeam (Knowledge Management Software Application Solutions and Call Center Help Desk Support).

Kennedy-Western University BSQC; NNSDD Nuclear Instrument Repairman Apprenticeship Virginia State Electrical Apprenticeship. He has also attended Motorola Management Institute for Executive Leadership, and received extensive training in team based process improvement and Total Quality Management practices. He is an IRCA registered QMS 2000 Lead Auditor # A009138. Also, qualified as a primary instructor for RAB/IRCA/IATCA recognized ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor and Transition Auditor Training. Past Chairman American Society for Quality, Wilmington Chapter 1115.
