We live in the era of quality, quality control, and quality assurance. The correct approach for quality is the ISO 9001:2008 standard (Quality Management Systems Requirements). It is a very well done system.

In my opinion, there is no sharp demarcation between ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:2008, so upgrading to ISO 9001:2008 following a recertification or surveillance audit should not be a problem.

Dear Sir,
Your web site supplies very good information on ISO, but can you not supply some of the more successful and less successful cases of any kinds of industrial organisations or educational institutions anywhere in world. What those organisation did to overcome the problems encountered.

We are an ISO 9000-2000 educational institution working for western region technical education system in india and doing very well. but we all feel that the maintainence of all type of documentation of each quality processses performed by the departments in an educational institution is very difficult, rather tedious.

What are the alternatives?

Your site is very informative and useful.

One question: if we have the procedures of ISO 9001, do we still need other procedures? If yes, why?
