Don Reed
Technical Writing Director
Don Reed develops policies, procedures, and forms for the Bizmanualz product line, and he creates and edits additional business materials as well. Don has extensive technical and informative writing experience. He taught Technical Communication and Advanced Technical Writing at Saint Louis University for over six years, and continues to teach English Composition and Basic Writing Workshops at Southwestern Illinois College. He has taught Professional and Business Writing Seminars at numerous organizations in the St. Louis area.
Don also served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Policy History, a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal published through the cooperation of the History Department at Saint Louis University and Penn State University Press.
He has twelve years of experience as a Research & Development Project Engineer, designing and building automated production equipment for a Fortune 500 manufacturer. He was intricately involved with the manufacturing processes including implementing Just-In-Time methods and achieving ISO 9001 certification. He played leadership roles in Statistical Process Control, Continual Process Improvement, Corrective Action Teams, and in creating compliance-driven documentation to achieve and maintain agency certifications.
Don has a Master of Arts in Communication from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is also an American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
