Arc Tangent, a developer of desktop marketing and database management software, was struggling under a crushing debt load, negative cash flow and declining cash reserves.

Arc Tangent needed to focus on its core competencies and improve its cash position. The company then needed to be reorganized for growth and subsequent sale.

Approach

Arc Tangent's customer base was solid. Customers received more value than what they paid, so an opportunity existed to raise prices on its popular software product to increase cash flow.

The company had been performing their own production and fulfillment internally at a high cost, so the function was outsourced to reduce costs.

There were simply too many employees for Arc Tangent's revenue level so many areas in the company had to be reduced.

Results

With Chris's help, Arc Tangent increased net profit margins 40 percent while increasing sales 100 percent. They also restructured debt to increase cash flow and improved the effectiveness of management systems for sales, marketing, technical support, administration and finance by 50 percent.

Ultimately, Chris helped prepare Arc Tangent for subsequent sale at a greater value.
