Dear Sirs:

It is very heartwarming for bizmaualz to have documented and placed a name to common sense activities that a an entrepreneur/manager/leader would be doing daily in running a business. I hope you would keep the principles behind these common sense activities simple and easy. Making something hard look easy is the true measure of good mentor.

The GR/IR – Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt account is used for goods received before an invoice or for invoices received before the goods. Obviously there can be a timing difference, which is why a GR/IR account is used. You can run a weekly aging report and email or notify all outstanding vendors, every week. This is how you collect money in accounts receiveable and it is the same process for GR/IR accounts. But, why do you want to hurry up vendors that are late with their invoices? Isn't that just free cash flow?

Hello sir,

I am working in a MNC for processes like GRIR, auditing etc, where my main responsibility is to ensure the open items are reduced to a period of 1 month, but what ever follow ups I may do the action only happens when the vendor submits the invoice, what extra can I do to improve the process.

Low transaction environments are the same as job shops where each order could be a custom product. What's required is a highly flexible workforce trained in multiple areas. It is the same as a small business where a single individual must perform multiple functions. Job specialization will not work very well until you get enough order volume to support the specialization. Bottom line: train each worker with multiple skills. Increase your skill flexibility and think like a small business.

Dear Sirs,

I would like to thank you for this great website, and I appreciate your effort in supporting businesses and industrial firms around the world.

I'm a Q.A Engineer with Industrial Engineering background, working at the Palestinian Cellular Communications; Jawwal. Frankly, I need more clarifications in (mature, slow growth and low transaction businesses), because till now I can't differentiate between all of these categories and also unable to sort the cellular communications- the firm where I’m working at- in any of these categories!! Can you help me in that?!!

Best Regards,
Jumana Yaseen
Q.A Engineer,
